Five generations in this family

THERE aren’t many people who can say they have a great, great grandma but little Lucy Parker, born on March 9, can do just that.

Lucy’s birth has marked a major mile- stone for one Coffs Harbour family. Five generations of women, all alive and living in the city.

Lucy’s great great grandma, Joyce Johnson, first moved to the area more than 20 years ago before her daughter, Caroline Bentley, followed with her daughter, Lesley Sole.

The three were living here when Lesley’s daughter, Lissia Parker, was born. Now 22, Lissia just gave birth to a daughter of her own, Lucy, making an impressive five generations of women in the family.

“When we found out Lissia was having a baby we were all saying ‘It has to be a girl! You’ll ruin the tradition!’ Caroline joked.

And this isn’t the first time this has happened to them. Caroline’s grandmother was alive when Lissia was born.
