Garden is the natural choice for outdoors fun these holidays

HERE'S your opportunity to get the kids away from screens and into nature these school holidays.

Designed to be fun and engaging, workshops for children are being held at the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden from 9am to 10am, which include a walk and creative activities.

On Wednesday and Saturday, July 1 and 4, the Garden Animal Homes workshop will explore the creatures living in the gardens and the skills involved in building their homes.

The children will then use those skills to make their own animal home.

On Wednesday, July 8, the Big Trees workshop will see children discover the many big trees in the garden, some more than 500 years old. Use the materials provided to create a collage frottage to take home.

The workshop on Saturday, July 11, will be Dinosaurs. Take a walk through the plants of millions of years ago and find a garden dinosaur. Make your own paper dinosaur to take home.

All materials are supplied for a cost of $2 per child. Please wear a hat, sunscreen and walking shoes. There are bubblers in the garden but bring own drink bottle if preferred.

To book your place or for more details, phone Ian Corbett on 6648 4896 or 0409 908 196.
