Kids' garden scores A-Plus

KARANGI kids have received top marks from the judges in this year's Coffs Harbour Garden Club Spring Competition.

The Karangi Public School garden, designed and tended by many of the students, has taken out honours for best bed of mixed flowers and whole school garden.

Mulching, planting and creating labels for garden beds are all part of the curriculum at this school where lettuce leaves from the vegie garden end up in the canteen lunches.

"The students are particularly proud of their vegie garden and rainforest walk," teacher Kate Sweetman said.
