Garden discovery uncovers more than just vegies

POLICE uncovered $40,000 worth of cannabis in a bust at Thora.

Bellingen police discovered 21 cannabis plants growing in a vegetable garden at a Darkwood Road property at 6.45pm on Monday.

They had been at the address to investigate an unrelated complaint.

Police said 14 of the plants were 2.5 metres tall, while the remaining seven were less than a metre in height.

A woman, 32, is helping police with their inquiries.

“Police will always act on information from the public regarding cannabis cultivation in the Coffs/Clarence local area command,” Detective Chief Inspector Jason Breton said.

“Members of the public are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, and they can remain anonymous if they wish.”
