GALLERY: No room for error in close competitions

SOFTBALL: It was a round of draws and other close finished in the Gladstone Softball Incorporated competition.

That was the case in seniors and juniors with Friday night the pick of the bunch.

Souths Blue were involved with a draw and a win.

The Blue team drew 10-10 in game one against Telfords, but then recovered to win Souths White 10-6 in the final game.

The results mean that Souths Blue edge two points clear ahead of Telfords.

It augers well for a fascinating round this Friday when Telfords take on Souths Blue in the first game.

Telfords, should they beat Blue, have the chance to reclaim top spot if they get the job done in game two against Souths White.

Cardinals and Blue Jays also produced a 13-all draw in the Thursday night men's competition.

Blue Jays hold the edge after a 10-4 round one win back on November 26.

The two teams lock horns again this Thursday from 6.30pm.

In the Junior Fastpitch competition, Angels have made the perfect start to the season with 7-5 and 9-5 wins against Dodgers in a double-header.

Jets beat Indians 7-2 in the 3 Pitch competition while it was an 8-all draw between Dodgers and Angels.

Indians meet Angels and Jets take on Dodgers this Wednesday from 4.30pm.

TBall teams Hawks and Sharks couldn't be separated last Wednesday at 5-all and they meet again in two day's from 4.30pm.
