Gallen hates losing especially to the Maroons

PAUL Gallen hates losing, particularly in State of Origin to the Maroons.

During his reign as the New South Wales captain no one has wanted a series victory more than the skipper.

Gallen is expecting another big reception from the Queensland faithful in Brisbane on Wednesday night, particularly after that Nate Myles incident and his joke about 'two headed Queenslanders' at the Blues team launch.

"There is genuine hatred between the two states," Gallen said.

"They hate us too, believe me.

"That's the way it is. No one can deny it. It's not an evil hatred. It is a hatred that fires the two states up.

"It is respectful hatred, if there is such a thing. The fans love the brutality of it.

"They love the speed and skill. It's the pinnacle of rugby league. It's the best of the best.

"There is no place to hide out there."

Gallen admitted today that next year could be his last in Origin.
