Future cricket stars in Coffs show

CRICKET NSW presents a four day Toyota Futures League match against Tasmania starting Monday from 10am at C.ex Coffs International Stadium.

Toyota Futures League is the national men's Second XI competition.

The tournament features some of the best up-and-coming talent from around the country, as well as senior players with First Class experience.

NSW has named six players who have played in the Sheffield Shield such as former North Coastal representative Nick Larkin. Others are fast bowlers Trent Copeland and Gurinder Sandhu who have both represented Australia.

Cricket NSW chief executive Andrew Jones said this match is an important fixture for cricket in the region.

"Of course we have the Sheffield Shield match between NSW and South Australia scheduled for C.ex Coffs International Stadium in February," he said.

"It is very exciting to be playing this Futures League match in Coffs to provide opportunity for players to press for selection in the senior NSW team.

"This game gives our operational and coaching staff the chance to assess conditions ahead of the Sheffield Shield match later."
