Future of Nambucca is on show

THE Nambucca River Foreshore Masterplan has been released for exhibition and the Nambucca Shire Council is inviting public comment.

Mayor Rhonda Hoban said the plan provides Council and the Nambucca Heads community with a long-term vision and program for the continued beautification and use of the foreshore areas.

“It also identifies conservation measures to sustain and improve the health of the majestic Nambucca River,” she said.

The forehore has been divided into precincts with the high use areas of Bellwood Park, Stuart Island, War Memorial and the RSL Club area, Gordon Park and the 'V' Wall precincts recieving considerable attention to make sure they become more user friendly.

The centrepiece of the Masterplan is the War Memorial and Gordon Park precincts.

“The level of detail in the concept plans should provoke considerable discussion and comment,” Cr Hoban added.

A community information meeting will be held at the Nambucca Heads Entertainment Centre on Monday, October 19 from 6pm to 8pm.

Copies of the plan can be viewed at Nambucca Heads Library or www.nambucca.nsw.gov.au.
