Funding has an oliver twist

PLEASE sir, can I have some more?

Oliver Twist may be more than a century old, but the sentiment behind his words rang true when the government announced that Coffs Coast councils could receive $2.9 million in infrastructure funding.

With a backlog of works projects worth $150 million, councils say any money is good money, but this feels like a Band-aid and the sticky bits are already coming off.

$500,000 would 'buy' half a skate park, rehabilitate part of a road and, depending on design, come close to funding a playground.

The twist is that when

everyone wins, the funding runs thin.

Still, anything's good if it's free...even another bowl of gruel.
