Funding help for oncology patients
A COFFS Harbour club that makes life a little easier for oncology patients has been granted funding to keep up the good work.
The Inner Wheel Club of Coffs Harbour is a friendship club of wives, partners and relatives of Rotarians who make mastectomy cushions and drainage bags for distribution to patients at oncology departments at Coffs Harbour Health Campus and Baringa Hospital.
After seven years of work, the club has been awarded a grant by the Cancer Council to cover the cost of a year's supply of material, which will help Inner Wheel sew more than 100 cushions and bags this year.
The grant was awarded to recognise Inner Wheel's work to improve patients' comfort and wellbeing after surgery.
