Fun and festivities at Woopi

THE Northern Beaches will celebrate the festive season on Friday at the Woolgoolga Mitre 10 Carols by the Sea.

The event, organised by Woolgoolga and Northern Beaches Chamber of Commerce and Lifehouse Church, kicks off at 6pm at Woolgoolga Beach Reserve.

Event co-ordinator Val Swan said the whole community was pitching in to put on a night of fun for all ages.

"There will be plenty of entertainment on the night, with children's group The Toads, the talented students from Woolgoolga Dance Studio and the Lifehouse band performing," she said.

"Santa will be paying us a visit and is arriving in style thanks to Woolgoolga Fire and Rescue.

"Woolgoolga Surf Life Saving Club juniors will be Santa's helpers, handing out lollies to children."

The Voluntary Marine Rescue will host a sausage sizzle, while snow cones, coffee and hot dogs will also be available to purchase.

"Local cafes and takeaways will be open for the evening so you can buy dinner, bring a picnic blanket and nab yourself a good spot ready to join in all festive fun."
