Freshen-up for museum

NOTICE anything different about the Coffs Harbour Regional Museum?

The building has lost its mural of the history of Coffs Harbour and has a bright new coat of paint.

The mural, in 'sepia' tones to reflect the historical theme, was created six years ago as part of a work for the dole scheme.

Coffs Harbour City Council's art gallery and museum director Dr Leigh Summers said the paint job was part of a freshening-up of the exterior of the museum to complement the brand new Cavanbah Centre beside it and the work would include new landscaping.

She said they had consulted the mural's creator of the mural, artist Ashley Johnson.

“It is a fabulous area for signage and I would also like it to have some decorative elements,” Dr Summers said.
