Fraser shares $10 million around four Coffs Coast schools
NATIONALS Member for Coffs Harbour, Andrew Fraser, has announced four schools in Coffs Harbour electorate will share in $10 million of additional funding this year.
"I am very pleased to advise Crossmaglen Public, Narranga Public, Toormina High and Woolgoolga High Schools will all be receiving additional maintenance funding in the 2012/13 financial year to assist in the replacement of downpipes, gutters, sheeting and carpets," he said.
Mr Fraser said funding had been secured as a result of savings made by the Department which can now been redirected into schools.
"I am proud that we have made savings and as a result we can provide more resources directly to schools to improve the learning environment for students.
"Since we have been elected the school maintenance budget has increased by 22%.
"Over the past two years we have allocated $1.9 billion for maintenance and capital works in schools and TAFEs.
"We are committed to tackling Labor's education infrastructure backlog and maintenance liability."
