Band ready for album release

A FRASER Coast band has been touted as the next big thing as they await the launch of their debut album.

Formed in 2010, Cardiology consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Luke Karolak, drummer Matt Dunn and bassist Wezzy Cruze.

The band has a rock, punk sound, describing themselves as post-grunge alternative group and listing Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Travis Barker among their influences.

Not only is the band releasing its first album, but three of their songs will also feature in the upcoming independent Australian film, Myth, which premiers in Sydney in August.

The launch of their album will take place this Saturday at Maryborough's Lounge 1868.

The band will be supported by fellow Fraser Coast band Zero to Hero.

The event will start at 8pm and entry will be free.

CDs will be available for purchase at the event.
