Fourth person charged over home invasion
A FOURTH person has been charged over a violent home invasion where a man was stabbed in the arm and beaten at Bakers Creek.
Police said three people allegedly forced entry to a home and set upon a 52-year-old man living on Greenhills Rd, Bakers Creek on Tuesday, February 14.
The trio armed with a baseball bat, bolt cutters, a knife and a hammer and allegedly assaulted the man before stabbing him in the arm.
During the incident the man's Mitsubishi Pajero was stolen from the home.
Police and emergency services attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries to his face, skull and torso.
Detectives from Mid North Coast Local Area Command established Strike Force Grout to investigate the assault and later conducted a search warrant at a home on Hills Road, Bakers Creek.
On Wednesday, about 4.30pm police said a 40-year-old man was arrested at Wyong.
He was subsequently charged with special aggravated enter with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm and refused bail to appear in Wyong Local Court today.
He is the fourth person to be charged over the incident after a 43-year-old woman and two men, aged 46 and 47, were arrested and charged in Kempsey on Monday, April 29.
