Shots fired during dispute in Lockyer Valley

FOUR men will face weapons charges after firearms were discharged at Hatton Vale overnight. 

Around 7pm, it will be alleged that four men attended an address on Shaw Road before becoming involved in a verbal argument with a female resident, during which, two of the men discharged a firearm.

The men left the address but were located by police a short time later.

The group were believed to be known to each other.

During a search of the area police allegedly uncovered three firearms, ammunition and a knife.

Police have charged a 36-year-old Laidley man, 35-year-old Laidley man, 37-year-old Brightview man and 26-year-old Kirwan man with one count each of; going armed so as to cause fear, threatening violence, common assault, unlawful possession of weapons and not holding the authority required to possess explosives.

All four men are scheduled to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
