Former Brahman scores State of Origin game-winner

HE CAME, he saw and he conquered.

Proserpine's Nathan Barrett turned match-winner when he crossed for a try in the Under-16s State of Origin game last night at ANZ Stadium.

The 16-year-old former Brahman pounced on a NSW knock-on in the 59th minute before finishing his work just a few tackles later, leading the young Maroons to a thrilling 10-6 victory.

Playing in the curtain raiser for Game 1, Nathan completed his transformation from country footy in Proserpine on rugby league's biggest stage.
