Flying high on the Coffs Coast's extreme wind tunnel

IT'S a feeling of weightlessness, the rush of skydiving from 28,000 feet without the fear of the fall.

The Xtreme Bodyflight Wind Tunnel, the first of its kind in Australia, will be launched to the public by Coffs City Skydivers today.

The 14m-high wind tunnel is powered by a jet engine and allows people to levitate on air travelling at 200kmh, Steve Hill from Coffs City Skydivers said.

"This is a major drawcard for us in establishing Australia's only indoor and outdoor skydiving centre," Steve said.

"The Xtreme Bodyflight wind tunnel experience offers the extreme thrill of skydiving without having to jump out of a plane."

The wind tunnel situated off Aviation Dr is open to bookings today, tomorrow and Monday.
