Flight of fancy for eco show

FOUR local artists have created works using the themes biology, nature and “the birds and the bees”.

Honey, an exhibition staged by Big Fig Arts, showcases pieces made from reclaimed or recycled materials, making this an eco-based exhibition and also an engaging challenge for the four artists – Nick Warfield, Marc Renshaw, Gray Mare and an artist known as ‘and the trees’.

Nick Warfield has created a 3m supersized hummingbird and flower as the feature piece for this show.

This sculpture is made from reclaimed metals and will hang on the facade of the Bellingen Brewery & Co business during the exhibition.

Honey opened this week and will be on display at the Bellingen Brewery & Co in Church St, Bellingen, until January 10.

Big Fig Arts is a new local arts organisation hosting workshops, exhibitions and community projects in Bellingen.
