Flag returns after falling victim to wild weather

UPDATE: The Australian flag at Picnic Point is back up at full mast after it was damaged in a storm last week.

A crane was used to reinstate the flag.

EARLIER: The Australian flag flying at Picnic Point will be missing for a short time after severe weather late last week which damaged the ropes.

The wet and windy weather resulted in a loosening of the rope and releasing of the flag.

Toowoomba Regional Council staff have arranged for the rope to be repaired and for appropriate measures to be implemented that will prevent a reoccurrence of this incident.

A crane will be needed to reinstate the flag.

The strong winds and rain did not damage the flag itself.
