Fish co-op award was a good catch

THE champagne corks are still popping at the Coffs Harbour Fishermen's Co-operative following their latest award.

The co-op was named Best Supplier (NSW) in the Sydney Fish Market Seafood Excellence Awards at a ceremony on Saturday.

The co-op had to stave off hot competition from other suppliers throughout the State.

Nominees were judged on the quality, consistency and branding of product sold through the fish market, as well as customer service.

“This is recognition of the efforts that the fishermen go to looking after their catches, and the efforts our staff go to to ensure the quality is maintained through to the market,” co-op general manager Phillip Neuss said. “It will flow through in pricing by buyers, who recognise they are getting the best quality produce on the market floor.

“This is reflected in our premium wild harvest brand, which highlights our highest quality seafood.”
