Finn makes New Year’s beautiful

WHILE most were out celebrating the New Year or tucked away in bed after the count down, new mum Anastasia Stewart was welcoming baby Finn into the world.

The gorgeous bub was born at 2.09am on New Year's Day, weighing 3940g.

Anastasia was surrounded by her family on Thursday as they reflected on a day of firsts - with the first day of 2015 came a first child for Anastasia and a first grandchild for her parents.

"When he was born, I just kept repeating 'he's so beautiful, he's so beautiful'," Anastasia said.

"I would like to say a big thank you to all the midwives, both at Galambila and Coffs Harbour Hospital, who helped support and birth little Finn into the world."

About 35 years ago, Anastasia's grandma Betty died on New Year's Day. The family said in future, with Finn's arrival on January 1, this time of year would be filled with happiness rather than sorrow.
