Final surf day a beaming success

IN the final 'Let's Go Surfing' day for the summer organised by the Mid North Coast branch of the Disabled Surfers Association, everyone involved was both thrilled and relieved to be blessed with warm water, sunny weather and perfect rolling waves at Scotts Head.

Eleven disabled people showed up for a surf on Saturday and again huge numbers of volunteers turned out to assist. All volunteers, surfers and carers were left with great memories to carry them through the winter months.

“What a great way to finish the season,” president of the DSA MNC branch Chris Allen said.

“A big thank you goes out to Nikki and all the Scotts Head locals who helped out this weekend and all the volunteers and tireless helpers who assist in putting these days on.

“It's all about surfers helping surfers and putting smiles on dials and that's what we've achieved today.

“Can't wait for next summer!”

The day was topped when local Federal MP Luke Hartsuyker and Leeann Lloyd (representing the DSA) who recently cycled around the Mid-North Coast to raise funds for the DSA were able to hand over a cheque for $6000 as a result of this ride and major sponsorship from the Bananacoast Credit Union.
