Film festival winds up

COFFS Coast Local Food Film Festival concludes this week with the final two screenings at Bowraville Theatre on Saturday and Bellingen Memorial Hall on Sunday.

The feature film at both will be Dirt! The Movie.

This is an insightful and timely film that tells the story of the glorious and unappreciated material beneath our feet.

Narrated by Jamie Lee Curtis, and inspired by Bill Logan’s acclaimed book Dirt: The Ecstatic Skin of the Earth, Dirt! The Movie takes a humorous and substantial look into the history and current state of the living organic matter that we come from and return to.

At the conclusion of the screening in Bellingen, audiences will be joined by guest speaker Brian Dubb, founder of Nimbin-based company Urban Ecological Solutions.

Screenings are at Bowraville Theatre on Saturday at 2pm, and at Bellingen Memorial Hall on Sunday at 7pm.

The movie will be preceded by live music from Bellingen’s own ukulele group Desperados.
