Fields to lead T20 charge

TOOWOOMBA talent Jodie Fields is looking forward to next month's women's cricket World Twenty20 more so than most of her team-mates.

The Australian squad was yesterday named and as has been the case for the past 18 months, Fields will captain the team in Sri Lanka.

Many of her team mates were part of the victorious Australian team in 2010 that won the last World T20 tournament but Fields was back in Australia nursing her second serious hamstring injury.

Fields is keen to be part of it this time.

"Just being at home on the sidelines, not being able to be part of that, was quite disappointing but also motivating," she said.

"To have the chance to chance and opportunity to be there will be awesome."
