Field of flowers for our war heroes

A WALL of crocheted, cardboard and crepe paper poppies is taking shape at Mary Help of Christians Primary School.

Assistant principal Margaret Ryan said the school was inviting families to make poppies to add to the wall of remembrance.

"One family presented the poem 'In Flanders Field' in the shape of a poppy," she said.

She said the poppy wall was a living, growing memorial to the fallen.

"It will continue to grow and be a focus for learning and remembrance for the remainder of the year."
