Fenton takes control of rep side

CLAYTON Cup-winning coach Anthony Fenton will take charge of Group 2’s senior representative rugby league campaign next season.

Chief administrator Jim Anderson announced the former Port Macquarie forward will take over from Peter Denham who intends to concentrate on duties with the Australian Schoolboys side.

“The Group would like to thank Peter and his assistant coach Darren Leaney for their dedicated service over the past three years and wish Peter success with his new role,” he said.

Fenton took the unbeaten Sharks to the 2001 title for which they earned Country Rugby League’s highest honour for a premier club and also had a successful two-year stint handling the North Coast rep side before the creation of the Oxley Pioneers region.

He will head up a new look administration with incoming support staff added from the southern end of the competition.
