Feltis claims classic in playoff
LUKE Feltis won the Paul Sheehan Junior Classic at Coffs Harbour Golf Course, holding his nerve in a tense sudden-death playoff against Brandon Connor.
In testing conditions Feltis shot an even-par round of 70, before out-gunning Connor in a tiebreaker with a birdie on the 10th hole.
The event was closely fought, with Aden Louez (71), Tim Hyland (72) and Jack Pountney (75) all in the mix.
Jack Winchester shot a remarkable net 59 to claim the net winners title, an amazing eight shots in front of his nearest rival.
Amelia Mehmet-Grohn was the winner of the girls' section, shooting 86.
Despite going down to Feltis in the playoff, Connor claimed a win in the division one scratch score.
Strong cadet numbers from around the region produced plenty of quality rounds.
While plagued by wet weather in recent years, this year's event enjoyed enough dry skies for a result and plenty of quality junior golf action.
The Junior Classic is the brainchild of former Coffs Harbour junior and now Australian touring professional Paul Sheehan. The event is backed by Sheehan and the Coffs City Golf Centre.
