Fears of another quake to hit Nepal

EXPERTS fear another earthquake may be coming in Nepal.

Satellite images have revealed a collapse in the Earth's surface of about 1.37m near Kathmandu - much less than anticipated.

School of Civil and Environmental Engineering Associate Professor Linlin Ge said it was feared the stress that caused the initial earthquake might not have been fully released.

"There are a lot of concerns about what is to come in terms of aftershocks, because the ground displacement is much less than we expected," he told the ABC.

"Our suspicions are that the stress has not been fully released at this stage."
