Fatal accident closes highway

A FATAL truck accident on the Pacific Highway at Rossglen, south of Kew, is causing traffic and train disruption across the North Coast.

According to the Port Macquarie News, Southbound lanes of the highway are closed.

The accident happened about 1am.

Police are investigating and recovery operations began early this morning.

This complex recovery is expected to continue until this afternoon.

However, a contra flow is in place in the northbound carriageway.

This will allow one lane of traffic in both directions to pass the site of the accident.
