Fashion inspired benefit

BEAUTIFUL gowns representing thousands of hours of work by a skilled designer will go on the catwalk at Sawtell RSL this evening.

The Be Inspired parade will see a collection of wearable art created by soft sculpture artist Glenda Frost paraded by Coffs Coast models to benefit the Coffs Harbour oncology ward and the work of the CanDo Cancer Trust.

The work on show includes outfits from the Australian Gown of the Year Awards and outfits designed for special events, worn by celebrities and used in theatrical productions.

With silks, satins, feathers, fur, felt, jewels, crystals, metallic threads and dozens of different sewing and embroidery techniques, Glenda Frost has created designs which each tell a story from ‘Autumn Leaves’ to ‘Zhivago’ and from ‘Atlantis’ to ‘Antarctic Crystal’.

The parade will be held in the Sawtell RSL Princess Room from 6.30pm for a 7pm start to the parade.

Tickets, which include a finger-food supper and a ticket in the lucky door prize, are $25 from the Sawtell RSL Club lobby.
