Toddler dies in farm accident

A DORRIGO family is trying to come to terms with the tragic death of their toddler son in a shocking farm accident.

The three-year-old fell into a hay-baling machine, which was behind a tractor on the Shepherds Road property at Bielsdown Hills, southwest of Dorrigo, after 2.30pm yesterday.

The youngster was removed from the machine and attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene.

A police car with two doctors aboard raced to the farm along with four paramedics, while the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was also tasked to the property.

Crime scene unit police, detectives and WorkCover were called to the scene.
