SOFIA Vergara brought a very special date to the 2017 Emmy Awards yesterday - and it wasn't her beefy actor husband, Joe Manganiello.

Vergara walked the red carpet with a handsome 26-year-old date by the name of Manolo... who just happens to be her son.

Yes, the Modern Family star, 45, has a grown-up son, the product of a marriage with her high school sweetheart when she was just 18 years old.

I have to squint so she doesn't have to. #ActualMamacita

A fledgling actor and model in his own right, Manolo's already starting to carve out a name for himself - he has a quarter of a million Instagram followers - but some couldn't believe that the ageless Vergara could have a son who didn't require babysitting on Emmys night.

Manolo celebrated his 26th birthday at an LA restaurant only days ago - with his beloved mum by his side:

@manologonzalezvergara bday!!❤️
