Family members on serious charges

THREE members of the same family are before the courts accused of committing an alleged home invasion at Woolgoolga last month.

Peter John Anderson, 52, Timothy Peter Anderson, 27, and Jacob Michael William Anderson, 22, of Mullaway, will answer to serious charges when they appear in the Coffs Harbour Local Court in June.

Police allege the men forced entry to a Woolgoolga home on March 15 between 7.17pm and 8pm and assaulted two men, aged 21 and 18.

The victims claimed they were bashed inside their home, and that a baseball bat was also produced by their attackers.

It is alleged the motive for the alleged incident may have been retribution for an earlier dispute involving a family member.

The case against the Andersons states:

“They entered the Knox Street home of the victims with the intent to commit a serious indictable offence.”

The occupants of the home told detectives they were punched and kicked by their attackers and later had to be treated in hospital for heavy bruising to their face and head.

The three men were arrested by police and were charged with offences including aggravated enter dwelling with intent whilst in company, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company and affray.

They are yet to enter pleas and have since been released on conditional bail.

Further details surrounding the case will be tendered in court when the men next appear on June 15.
