Explosive blasts to halt Pacific Highway traffic

DRIVERS using the Pacific Highway near Glenugie can expect delays this afternoon between 1pm and 1.30pm.

The delays are due to explosive blasts near Franklins Rd.

Road and Maritime Services said controlled rock blasting will be carried out as part of the upgrade of the highway between Woolgoolga and Ballina.

Traffic on the Pacific Highway will be temporarily stopped during controlled blasting.

Motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes for each controlled blast and are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
