Mr Robinson also set the record straight about how the couple met.

"He was never her bodyguard," Mr Robinson said.

"And he has never worked for the family."

Media has consistently reported Simon, who was in the armed forces, had met Ginia when working as her bodyguard.

"This was never the case," he said.

While declining to discuss Simon's involvement in the armed forces, Mr Robinson said he had worked as an electrician on the Sunshine Coast first.

He has also revealed Simon was a scrawny young man, but boxing changed his life.

He trained with Sunshine Coast boxing legend, Darren Obah and his first fight was against the champion of Queensland and "he beat him".
