Foxtel brings ex-Broncos Hodges, Parker to Toowoomba
JUSTIN Hodges has plenty of great memories from his time in Toowoomba, and he's keen to return to the place where his rugby league career exploded.
The former Toowoomba Clydesdales player and retired Brisbane Broncos skipper will join fellow club legend Corey Parker in the Garden City on the weekend.
The trip up the range will be to help showcase Foxtel's new 4K Ultra HD technology, with every match of the NRL season to be displayed in incredible high-definition.
But before Hodges was a living legend with 251 first-grade matches and two NRL premierships, he was the lanky star of the Toowoomba Clydesdales in the early 2000s.
Hodges, who starred for Toowoomba in the Queensland Cup and even scored a try in the 2000 grand final, said he still had fond memories of running onto Clive Berghofer Stadium.
"We had a lot of support (in Toowoomba), being a link between the Broncos," he said.
"Just running out there at Clive Berghofer Stadium was a little different (to anywhere else).
"There's a lot of history with rugby league and you see clubs bring their sides up the range for trial matches and even an NRL match.
"There's always been plenty of support, it's been phenomenal."
Hodges and Parker will be at the Toowoomba Harvey Norman store on Sunday from 10am until 12pm to showcase the picture and sound quality of the 4K Ultra HD technology.
The 36-year-old, who also works for Fox League, said he would be enjoying the NRL season in high definition.
"The quality of it is unbelievable. Make sure you get a box and tune in," he said.
