COFFS Harbour Basketball Association came together in a display of wacky style on Saturday morning to support one of their own.

Basketballers donned their craziest socks and brought a gold coin donation to raise funds for young player Eve Guy.

Eve, who plays for St Augustine's in the 3/4 girls primary school competition, was diagnosed with bone cancer in her leg earlier this year.

CHBA administrator Carlee Hardaker said the fundraiser would help Eve's family with her treatment expenses.

"The family has had to travel to Sydney for her cancer treatment so we decided to raise some money to help them out a bit," Carlee said.

Players of all ages got into the spirit of the fundraiser, with stripes, polka dots, rainbows and socks of all lengths seen on the courts.

"It's been a fantastic day," Carlee added.

"Everyone's got on different coloured socks and different styles, it's crazy."

Round robin games held over Friday and Saturday kicked off the start of the 2015 primary and high school winter competitions.
