
Enjoy the luck of the Irish with St Patrick’s Day events
IT IS a day to celebrate one of the most famous saints of all, and celebrate they do.
From Irish music and beer to traditional Irish foods, venues around Mackay are putting on a celebration for St Patrick's Day.
- St Patrick's Day at Harrup Park
Kicking off at 11am Tuesday with Guinness and Kilkenny on tap, Harrup Park is inviting people to come and hang out in the beer garden for the day.
Irish music by band Hullabaloo will start from 5.30pm
- Moss on Wood
From Tuesday to Saturday, March 21, Moss on Wood is celebrating St Patrick's Day.
Kicking off with Irish trivia each night, a solo musician and Irish dancers will get you through the evenings in a celebration of the green saint.
Special Irish themed cocktails and a special menu will also be available.
- St Patrick's Day at the Austral
Celebrate Ireland's National Day with the Austral's special food and drinks menu.
Starting from 10am today and carrying through to 9pm there is plenty of time to get involved in the action.
- South's Leagues Club
The only bar in Mackay serving Guinness on tap, South's is giving away $750 to members of the club from 7.30pm.
The kitchen will be serving up Guinness Pie all day.
- St Paddy's Day Dance
The Down Creek Community Dance is back this month with a St Paddy's Day theme.
Keith and Rob will be playing Irish tunes, and the organisers are asking people to come dressed in their best green outfit. The event starts at 7.30pm Friday, March 20.
