Energetic group in medal harvest

CASS Energy Aerobics Club sent nine athletes to the NSW Schoolaerobic finals at Sutherland and came home with three gold medals and four silvers.

Every Coffs Harbour participant won qualification for the national championships to be held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre on August 8-10.

"The competition standard was extremely high and the judges found it difficult to separate the placings as the scores were so close on the day," coach Cassie Scully said.

"Consequently, it resulted in the selection of more national qualifiers than usual."

In the interim, the club will send a contingent to the FISAF championships in Melbourne on July 19-20 where they will be giving their all to gain a position on the Australian team to compete at the Aerobic World Championships in Prague during October.

"As we approach the pointy end of the aerobic year, the club is buzzing with excitement and enthusiasm in the lead up to these national events," Cassie said.

"It's been a successful year so far and our athletes are determined to bring home as many medals and titles as physically possible."
