Centre staff, shoppers save woman's life
UPDATE 2.33PM: Police have praised the quick-thinking actions of shoppers and centre management after an elderly woman collapsed and stopped breathing in the Rose City Shoppingworld.
The 75-year-old was shopping with her husband when she collapsed outside of The Bag Warehouse at around 12.30pm.
Passers-by and centre management rushed to her aid, performing CPR until paramedics and police arrived at the scene.
Warwick police officer-in-charge Sergeant Jamie Deacon said the woman was resuscitated by paramedics.
He praised shoppers and centre management for rushing to the woman's aid.
"They should all be commended for their efforts," he said.
"The fact she's been revived is credit to them."
The woman was taken to the Warwick Hospital in a critical condition. A passer-by who witnessed the scene described it as a miracle.
"God has heard our prayers and she's been revived," he said.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman the woman is believed to have suffered a medical condition, causing her to collapse.
1.10PM: Rose City Shoppingworld management has been credited with saving the life of a woman who collapsed inside the centre today.
The 75-year-old woman collapsed and stopped breathing outside The Bag Warehouse about 12.45pm.
Centre management and passers-by revived the woman before Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics arrived.
She has been taken to Warwick hospital in a critical condition.
12.55PM: A woman has collapsed inside Rose City Shoppingworld and paramedics are currently performing CPR on them.
The situation is located outside The Bag Warehouse. Shocked shoppers are watching on as Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics attempt to resuscitate the 75-year-old woman.
The first reports to emergency services were made about 12.45pm.
There were reports that the person was not breathing when paramedics arrived..
Police and Queensland Ambulance Service crews are on scene.
