Five people assessed after head-on crash

UPDATE: 4.49pm

FIVE people are now being assessed at the scene of a head-on collision in South Murwillumbah.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics had updated their report, after four patients were originally reported.

"There doesn't appear to be any major injuries," the spokeswoman said.

She said there were two ambulance crews on the scene on Tweed Valley Way as of 4.49pm, and two more were on the way. 

UPDATE: 4.45pm

FOUR people are being assessed by paramedics after a head-on collision in South Murwillumbah.

A Fire and Rescue NSW spokeswoman said firefighters were on scene, along with paramedics and police. 

She said there was a small oil spill at the incident. 

Initial report: June 11, 4.28pm

EMERGENCY services were responding to a head-on collision in South Murwillumbah just before 4.30pm Thursday

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said they were called to the incident on Tweed Valley Way, near Mistral Rd, just after 4.20pm.

As of 4.28pm, it was not clear if any people were trapped. 

It is understood there is oil on the road.
