Elephant enjoys Coffs Coast
DUMBO swung by Coffs Harbour Showgrounds to stretch it's legs while en route to Sydney.
A feast of greens was enjoyed by the visiting elephant as it wondered around an enclosed section of the showgrounds during a quick pit stop.
General manager at the Coffs Harbour Showgrounds, Steve Sullivan, said the exotic animal arrived on Sunday morning and enjoyed most of the day in Coffs Harbour.
"It was a bit of a fly by night kind of thing ... it was here for most of the day," he said.
The visit came as 'a bit of a surprise' for Mr Sullivan, who said the elephant was privately owned and had attended a child's Christmas party on the Gold Coast.
It's been a week of strange animal sightings with a swamp wallaby spotted swimming a kilometre off the coast of Arrawarra Beach on Thursday.
