Eight in the running for mayor

VOTE in our Mayoral poll.

COFFS Harbour residents will choose one of eight candidates when the local government election is held on September 8.

The cut-off for nominations to run for a position on Council or as the popularly elected mayor was at noon on Wednesday and eight people have put up their hand to run for the top job.

In alphabetical order the mayoral candidates are:

  • John Arkan
  • Rod Degens
  • John Donaldson
  • Denise Knight
  • Leo Muller
  • Bob Palmer
  • Keith Rhoades
  • Dr Sally Townley

At 3pm on Wednesday the returning officer will conduct a ballot in the Coffs Harbour Council Chambers to see what order the candidates names will appear on the ballot paper.
