SUPERSTAR Ed Sheeran has made a surprise visit to Coffs Harbour.

The 'Lego House' singer stopped to take photos with fans before boarding a flight at Coffs Harbour Regional Airport this afternoon.

Biggles Flight Lounge employee Simone Cook was lucky enough to get a photo with the performer.

"I am a massive fan, his talent is amazing," Simone said.

"He was happy enough to stop for me when I asked for a photo.

"But I don't think many people recognised him because he was wearing a hoodie and glasses."

It's not yet known what Sheeran was doing on the Coffs Coast, however there is speculation he was visiting Russell Crowe's Nana Glen property, after the singer was pictured sharing a drink with Rabbitohs player Sam Burgess yesterday at an undisclosed location.

Sam Burgess’ fiance Phoebe Hooke shared the photo on Instagram.

Sheeran is in Australia as part of his 'X' world tour.

He performed at AAMI Park in Melbourne on Sunday night, with his next show at Sydney's Allianz Stadium on Wednesday.
