Easter holidays hotlist

ENTERTAINING school children can often be a full-time job during the holidays.

With so many parents in our office The Advocate has put together a top 10 list of things you can do to keep your children occupied and hopefully some of your hair still attached to your scalp.

1: The National Marine Science Centre Aquarium at Bay Drive, Coffs Harbour displays the unique marine life in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Entry is $10 for adults, $6 for children, $25 for a family, $8 concession. Children under three are free.

2: The Ultimate Sword Experience is a unique educational experience for all ages to learn and try safe and historic sword techniques from a fully qualified instructor. Phone 0417 275 011 to book, cost is $45.

3: Tenpin bowling is fun for the whole family and Holiday Lanes in Cox Lane Coffs Harbour is never a let down. To book, phone 6652 5666.

4: The indoor glow-in-the-dark 9 hole mini-golf course at Tabatinga, at the Bray Street Complex, is a challenge and adventure like no other. Phone 6658 0924.

5: If you feel the need for speed then F1 Kart Hire is your one stop pit stop. Located just five minutes from the centre of Coffs, F1 Kart Hire has karts for hire. Driving is on a bitumen sealed outdoor go-kart raceway. You must be seven or over to drive. Phone 6658 5664.

6: Bellingen Canoe Adventures offers a unique and unforgettable experience exploring the rich flora and fauna that make the local estuaries, creeks and billabongs their homes. A Flat Water tour is $48 for an adult and $32 per child 12y & under.

7: Butterflies are not the only attraction at the Butterfly House in Strouds Road Coffs Harbour. Outside the Butterfly House you will find our outdoor maze area. The Butterfly House is open from 9am to 4pm and costs $14 for adults, $12 concession, $7.50 for children.

8: Kegel 9-pin bowling is not your average bowling game. Test your skills and try something new. To book your lane phone 6653 7706.

9: Valery Trails is a long established Horse Riding Centre on the Mid North Coast of NSW just a short drive south of Coffs Harbour located on Valery Road, Valery. Bookings essential, phone 6653 4301.

10: And lucky last is the cheapest entertainment of the lot; fishing. Finding a safe spot is paramount and The Advocate’s fishing expert suggests dropping a line in the Coffs Creek off the Jetty.
