Early morning rain brings first minor flood warning for 2015

A FLOOD warning has been issued for the Orara River.

More than 100 millimetres of rain has fallen during the seven hours to 4am this morning.

The Orara River at Karangi peaked at 1.84 metres around 5am this morning indicating that minor flooding will occur at Glenreagh and downstream.

Rain has eased since 4am.

The river heights at Karangi and Orange Grove are reported as falling but peak levels at Glenreagh and Glenreagh Bridge aren't expected to be reached until this afternoon.

Glenreagh (automatic gauge) - A peak near five metres is expected at Glenreagh at around 3pm this afternoon with minor flooding while a peak near minor flood level of four metres at Glenreagh Bridge is expected at around 5pm this afternoon.
