Dynamic local dancers step up in Sydney

THREE couples from Pacific Dancentre competed in the WDCAL Luna Park Ballroom Dancing Championships.

Zane Myers and Paige Goulstone, Ethan Pursch and Tayla Lawer and Griffin Moore and Rebekka Robertson competed against couples from NSW, Queensland and Victoria.

Working hard leading up to this event with weekly private dance lessons and extra practice sessions at Pacific Dancentre Coffs Harbour with Carol Myers got earned great results.

Griffin and Rebekka Robertson placed first in Junior Open Latin dancing the Cha Cha and Jive, second in Junior Open Standard dancing the Waltz and Quickstep, third in Junior Open New Vogue.

This couple will next compete in Brisbane at QADS in November and the Australian Dancesport Championships in Melbourne in December.

Ethan and Tayla Lawer dancing in their first competition together received fifth placings in Junior Open Latin and Junior New Vogue and third in Junior Open Standard.

Zane and Paige danced in the Juvenile Open events and they received a seventh in New Vogue and eighth in the Standard.

"They looked so tiny against their opposition, they were dancing against 12 year olds,” said Carol Myers of Pacific Dancentre

"It will be a different story when they reach that age. So proud of all the dancers, keep up the good work.”
