Drugs and alcohol strewn around Glenreagh crash site

POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding an overnight crash at Glenreagh that has left a teenage boy in a critical condition in hospital.

Shortly after midnight, a Holden Commodore was travelling along Orara Way when it left the roadway and hit a tree.

Police and other emergency services responded to the incident with the 19-year-old male driver taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus in a critical but stable condition.

Two male passengers, aged 20 and 23, and two female passengers, aged 19 and 26, were also taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus for treatment of minor injuries.

A crime scene was established at the crash site where officers seized 143 grams of cannabis from a back pack that had been ejected from the car.

Police also found a significant amount of alcohol strewn across the impact scene.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
