Drug driving suit to warn teens of dangerous DUI

AS NEWS of the worrying trend of drug driving increases in Australia, a new tool has been designed to demonstrate the dangers of driving under the influence of illicit substances.

The 'Drug Driving Suit' is being used in Ford's Driving Skills for Life program- a hands on teenage driver safety course.

The suit simulates the effects of reduced mobility, vision and coordination - common side effects of driving under the influence - with padding and ankle weights, goggles and headphones.

The idea is that by wearing the suit, teenagers will understand the real dangers of driving after taking drugs such as cannabis, cocaine and heroin.
